Women in Engineering Networking Event

Loading Events

*This is not a women-only event—all attendees are welcome!* Networking is an important part of establishing industry-specific connections and learning more about a specific field. This is especially important for women as a minority group in the engineering industry to forge relationships with others in their field. These connections help us adopt a deeper understanding of the world of engineering, form mentor and mentee relationships, and gain invaluable professional skills in communication and teamwork. Please join IEEE Washington Section’s Women in Engineering group, along with our partners, as we seek to provide an opportunity for women in the engineering disciplines socialize with and learn from one another in a business-casual environment. Our special guest speaker, Dr. Laura Freeman, Deputy Director of the Virginia Tech National Security Institute, will discuss her areas of expertise, digital-age engineering, and the important role collaboration plays in the tech and engineering industries. We will also have free, catered lunch to all participants and networking breakout groups to discuss goals and challenges in the field. Register today to secure your spot! (Note: The event will take place in Bisdorf Building AA and parking (free) is in Parking Lot A4.
