KALPANA CHAWLA MEMORIAL LECTURE

The WIE wing of IEEE – SJCE is set to host the Kalpana Chawla Memorial Lecture. The talk will focus on the topic of “Challenges Faced in the Chandrayaan-3 Mission.” The talk will be presented by Mrs. Roopa M.V. an exceptional scientist and Deputy General Manager of the Spacecraft Operations Area at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). With a notable background and proficiency in spacecraft design, development, testing and operations, she has played a pivotal role in key ISRO projects, including Chandrayaan-3, SCATSAT Satellite, Chandrayaan-2 Lander and Rover, CARTOSAT-3 Satellite and Oceansat-2 Satellite. Mrs. Roopa M.V. graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering in Mysuru. Subsequently, she obtained a Master’s degree from SJCIT in Chickballapur. Delving into the heart of the lecture, Mrs. Roopa M.V. will candidly address the challenges faced during the Chandrayaan-3 Mission. These challenges will span a spectrum of technical, logistical and scientific hurdles, underscoring the inherent complexities of lunar exploration.
