For the 25th Anniversary of IEEE WIE we have an opportunity to highlight its strengths bringing together the gigantic amount of knowledge, ideas and creativity to solve technical problems. While the COVID 19 pandemic has been difficult for many in the world, the pressure has been particularly heavy on women. Many have lost their jobs or lagged behind in their profession being, as usual, the main caregivers for children and elderly parents. Also, alarming situations have emerged because of the pandemic which enhanced a reality of women ‘s medical differences, an increase of domestic violence, sexual assault and an increased number of suicides among women. IEEE WIE would like to celebrate the 25th anniversary by calling WIE members working in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, education and innovation to contribute with creative ideas to solve problems affecting women. WIE members from IEEE societies and Affinity Groups are invited to present their ideas on the following areas: • Smart child care and education • Elderly communication and senior safe living • W-medicine, mental health aid and security for women • Sustainable environment solutions in rural and urban areas The submitted ideas will be evaluated by a panel formed by scientists. Ideas will be presented at the “Round the World 25th Anniversary day” Virtual event. Winners will be invited to present their ideas in a dedicated session at the 2022 International Leadership Conference in San Diego in June 2022.
