Dear IEEE WIE Community,

I had the pleasure of hosting the 2026 IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) face-to-face Committee meeting in Bangkok, Thailand. Bringing our 32 global leadership team members together in person created a valuable opportunity to reflect on our progress and shape the future direction of WIE.

A highlight of the meeting was a panel discussion featuring distinguished IEEE leaders, including the IEEE President, Mary Ellen Randall, the MGA VP, Drew Lowery, and the IEEE Past MGA VP, Antonio Luque. Their perspectives provided important insights as we discussed how WIE can further strengthen its impact within IEEE and across the global engineering community.

Throughout the meeting, the committee engaged in meaningful discussions on the future of WIE membership, as well as the development of the WIE Strategic Roadmap for 2027–2030. Several subcommittees also presented their priorities for the coming years, covering areas such as regional activities, education and outreach, industry and entrepreneurship, and technical engagement.

I am grateful for the openness and collaborative spirit demonstrated by everyone involved. The meeting provided a strong platform for sharing ideas, exchanging perspectives, and identifying opportunities to grow and strengthen WIE’s programs worldwide. I look forward to working together with the committee to implement many of the thoughtful suggestions and initiatives that emerged from these discussions.
