Dear IEEE WIE Community,
Can you believe that we just completed the first month of 2026?!

I’m happy to share a few highlights from recent activities as we continue building momentum across our WIE community. We started the week by hosting a WIE booth at the IEEE Rising Stars Conference, where I was so thrilled to connect with many talented students and early-career professionals. We had meaningful conversations, shared opportunities within WIE, and reached a large number of enthusiastic attendees eager to get involved — it was truly energizing to see such passion for engineering and leadership.

Shortly after, I attended the IEEE Board of Directors Strategic Retreat, where we discussed the direction of IEEE and learned more about President Mary Ellen Randall’s strategic priorities for 2026. It was an inspiring and thoughtful set of discussions focused on impact, growth, and how we can better serve members worldwide. I left feeling encouraged about the alignment between IEEE’s global vision and the work we are doing within WIE.
Become a WIE Day Ambassador
The Call for WIE Day Ambassadors is now open!
Ambassadors play a vital role in energizing communities, promoting events, and amplifying WIE Day impact across regions.
If you are passionate about leadership, community building, and inspiring others in STEM, we encourage you to apply and help us expand WIE’s global reach.
Celebrate IEEE WIE Day — Start Planning Your Events!
We’re excited to share this year’s WIE Day theme: Technology with Purpose: Innovate Responsibly, Inspire Globally, Lead with Integrity!
This theme highlights the powerful role women engineers and technologists play in shaping a future where innovation serves society, advances equity, and reflects strong ethical leadership.
We encourage all WIE Affinity Groups and Student Branch Affinity Groups to begin planning activities, events, and initiatives that align with this vision. Whether through technical talks, outreach programs, leadership panels, mentoring circles, or community engagement, your local events help bring this global movement to life.
