Dear IEEE WIE Community,

As we enter the final month of 2025, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your energy, passion, and unwavering commitment to advancing women in engineering worldwide. Our community continues to inspire me every day.
This past month has been filled with meaningful engagements that showcased the strength and impact of WIE across Regions.

I was honored to deliver virtual welcome remarks at the National Women in Engineering Annual Congress of Tunisia, held on October 11–12, 2025 at Laico, Tunisia. With 350 attendees, this incredible gathering demonstrated the remarkable growth of WIE in the region. Huge congratulations to the IEEE WIE Tunisia Affinity Group and to Baya Bouchaala for leading such a successful and empowering event!

I also had the pleasure of attending the IEEE WIE International Leadership Summit (ILS) – Jordan, held on December 6–8, 2025. This summit brought together passionate leaders, innovators, and students from across the region. My warmest congratulations to IEEE WIE Jordan and Chair Yusra Obeidat for delivering an exceptional summit that fostered collaboration, inspiration, and leadership development.
In addition, I attended the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) Board Meeting in New York, USA, on November 22, 2025, where we discussed key strategies to strengthen member engagement, support volunteers, and enhance the overall experience of IEEE members worldwide. It was a valuable opportunity to collaborate with leaders from across MGA and ensure that WIE priorities are well represented.

As we close out 2025, I also want to take a moment to reflect on the accomplishments of our WIE community this year.
Together, we have:

  • Enhanced awareness and visibility through global leadership programs and impactful events such as the International Leadership Conference and Leadership Summits.
  • Expanded career development resources and engagement pathways by offering scholarships, grants, and awards to empower members worldwide.
  • Strengthened AG and SBAG vitality through robust volunteer training and recognition programs.
  • Facilitated student-to-professional transitions with Reskill and Upskill and Industry & Entrepreneurship webinars and career-boosting podcasts, fostering lifelong engagement and leadership.
  • Attracted diverse demographics through inclusive initiatives like WIE Day and targeted outreach, cultivating global belonging.

Amplified WIE’s presence and impact by strengthening collaborations across Regions, Societies, and Councils. These achievements reflect your dedication, creativity, and passion—thank you for making 2025 a milestone year for WIE!

Finally, I want to express my deepest appreciation for everything you do – your volunteerism, creativity, and dedication are what make our WIE community so vibrant, supportive, and impactful. Together, we uplift, empower, and inspire one another, and I am excited for all we will accomplish in the months ahead.

Wishing you all a joyful and restful holiday season, and a bright start to the new year.

Best regards,
Dr. Winnie Ye
