Lori Hogan is a graduate of Memorial University in Newfoundland, Canada. This is where she currently works as a Computer Engineering Instructor, helping students develop skills and confidence in basic and advanced computer engineering topics. Past employment opportunities at Memorial and C-CORE have included roles in Research Project Management, particularly in the area of communications, as well as Algorithm Research and Development.
Lori has been an active IEEE volunteer since 1999, having served in Branch, Section, Regional, and international leadership positions. Most of her experience in IEEE has been serving Student and Graduate members as Region 7 Student Representative (2004-6) and Student Activities Chair (2014-17), as well as other volunteer roles related to Student Activities. She has also served as Newfoundland-Labrador Section chair, Region 7 Young Professionals Chair, and has served as a member of the IEEE History and Nominations & Appointments (N&A) committees.
Locally, Lori is a long-time member and Past-President of Women in Science and Engineering Newfoundland and Labrador (WISE NL), a non-profit, incorporated, volunteer organization that aims to increase the participation and retention of women in STEM careers, by increasing awareness to all that these professions are rewarding and exciting options for women.
For her volunteerism, Lori was honoured with the 2017 PEG-NL Award for Service and the 2015 J.J. Archambault Eastern Canada Merit Award.
