IEEE Mentoring Program

Are you seeking guidance to navigate your career—or ready to share your expertise to empower others? The IEEE Mentoring Program, available through IEEE Collabratec®, is here to support you, whether you’re looking for a mentor or ready to become one.

Getting Started

Getting Started Is Easy
Sign in to IEEE Collabratec with your IEEE credentials.
Complete your profile. Include technical interests, biography, and expertise. Education and volunteer positions will auto-populate from your IEEE account. Set your visibility to “IEEE Members only” to participate fully.
Access your Career Services page.
From your Home page, click the ‘Career Services’ button on the left rail or find it under the ‘Collaborate’ tab in the top navigation.

Becoming a Mentor

Activate your Mentor status by selecting the checkbox.
Set Mentor preferences using the dropdown that appears. Click ‘Save’ after making selections.
Review and accept requests from mentees via the Pending Actions section or your Career Services dashboard

Becoming a Mentee

Activate your Mentee status by selecting the checkbox.
Click ‘Access Mentor List’ to search for mentors using filters—type “Women in Engineering” under “Membership and Affiliations” to connect within the WIE community.
Click the ‘Mentor Request’ tab, fill in your areas of guidance and term length, and click ‘Send’. Allow 7–10 days for a response.
Mentor requests expire after 30 days if no action is taken. You can send a message to follow up.

IEEE WIE Distinguished Volunteers and Mentors

IEEE WIE Distinguished Volunteer & Mentor showcases a dedicated WIE volunteer who is well known for his/her notable contribution to IEEE WIE. Through their experiences and career journey, IEEE WIE aims to motivate its members to pursue their interest in STEM and learn from the grit and perseverance these leaders display.
