Meet Anne Costolanski, Treasurer of the Women in Engineering committee

Hi, I’m Anne Costolanski and I serve as the Treasurer of the Women in Engineering committee and the chair of Atlanta WIE. I’ve been involved with IEEE and WIE since 2016. I volunteer with IEEE because I feel strongly about supporting women in the engineering field and encouraging young girls to pursue STEM careers.

Growing up, I didn’t have any female role models or know anyone who held a technical job, so I didn’t know what kinds of career opportunities were available to someone who was interested in math and science. I’ve also encountered gender-based harassment at work and at school. So my goal in serving IEEE is to support and encourage the professional success of women in electrical engineering and to help inspire the next generation of engineers. And as a bonus, I’ve met some great people and made some good friends while volunteering!
