IEEE WIE ILS 2018, the 2-day leadership summit of IEEE WIE was held at the picturesque location of the Le Meridian Hotel, Cochin, Kerala, India, in the presence of an eminent group of dignitaries, delegates and leading lights of the society, along with various national & international establishments, on September 7th and 8th 2018. The ILS El Salvador 2018 represented an initiative to bring together female students and outstanding professional women in the fields of science and engineering. The main goal was to help women create support links to assist development in their careers while drawing attention to the minority they represent as well as build encouragement for new WIE programs and initiatives to be implemented in the region. View full report

“IEEE Women in Engineering International Leadership Summit (ILS) 2018” was held 12-13 October,  2018 at BSMMU Convention Center, Dhaka with the theme of “Dream| Believe| Achieve |Empower”. This global summit was organized by IEEEWomen in Engineering Affinity Group of Bangladesh which is the first time in the history of IEEE Bangladesh section since it’s inception in 1993. A very successful ILS was held in Brisbane, Australia, on 26-27^th November 2018. The two days were packed with an interactive program consisting of 2 plenary speakers, 2 panel discussions and 4 workshops with the aim to engage and empower women and men at various career stages. The workshop topics included ‘CV for success’, ‘the power of social media’, ‘personal development needs for female engineers as leaders’, and ‘the role of male engineers to support gender diversity’. The power of social media workshop was complemented by a photographer who took professional head shots of the participants to update their LinkedIn profile.  Both days started with a plenary session presented by the honourable Trish White, National President of Engineers Australia, and Dr Cathy Foley, Chief Scientist CSIRO. On 23 October 2018 the IEEE WIE Affinity Group Morocco section celebrated in Marrakech the IEEE WIE International Leadership Summit, which provided regional networking opportunities to foster communication and collaboration. IEEE women in engineering international leadership summit was held alongside the 5th IEEE International Congress on Information Science and Technology (IEEE CiSt’18).
