IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group of St. Joseph’s college of Engineering along with the IEEE Student Branch of SJCE , Chennai, India has successfully conducted a 4-day webinar series, “SHE LEADS’- Empowering Women Together” from 27th January 2022  to 30th January 2022  with astounding speakers  Dr. S. Brindha (Professor at Sri Sairam Engineering College), Ms. Jenifer Castillo Rodriguez (IEEE Region 9 Director-Elect), Ms. Uduak Akpanedet (Graduate Consultant at ITPE Energised) and Ms. Bozenna Pasik Duncan (Professor at the University of Kansas). The webinar session took place through Google Meet platform and 2 sessions got Live streamed in YouTube. The entire series was coordinated by the IEEE WIE SJCE SB Office bearers along with Mr. R. IEEE WIE NUST WIE NUST (College of National University of Sciences and Technologies) PNEC (Pakistan Navy Engineering College) has taken another big step towards equipping the youth with the knowledge to follow the current trends that lead to our desired career fields.On 15th January 2022, WIE NUST PNEC conducted a much-needed webinar on capitalizing on the wide array of benefits of LinkedIn, titled “Are You LinkedIn or Left Out?” It targeted students who were worried about their careers and explained the root cause of why they hadn’t made much progress on building their career pathways. The session was a perfect chance to link right back into the pool of possibilities. The guest speaker, Engr. Fahad Qadeer, took the participants to the world of networking, guiding them towards LinkedIn Learning where they could develop specific skills for future industrial and professional work. Keeping the population of Pakistan as the focal point, he emphasised on the need to create and maintain a LinkedIn profile, even at a student level, supporting his statements with statistical data. He made the audience aware of the global shifts taking place post-Covid and how they directly impact the career trajectory of current college and undergraduate students. Read the full report.

An Introduction to PSIM For Power Electronics Simulations

An opportunity to network and discuss success strategies and involve WIE members was was availed by means of a special session in the backdrop of 2021 R10HTC. The session on Oct 2 2021 Day 2 of the conference, was designed with an inaugural address by the Chair of WIE Bangalore Section AG setting the context – Ms Anandi Giridharan, a talk on UN SDG goals Ms Gayatri – Execom member WEIE Bangalore Section. Ms Divya M G Chair MDC Bangalore section and past Chair WiE Bangalore Section, spoke on how WIE track was proposed to engage authors from WIE community in the special track and moderated a discussion of avenues in membership development – presentation of best practices in WIE Student Branch Affinity groups and WIE professional members alike with Dr Shobha K R , Dr Vijayalakshmi Dr Deepa K, Ms Ashwini V R Ms Ashwini V R, who have all been faculty mentors in their respective AGs as well as Execom members in the section Execom and Ms Supriya Kamthaniya Execom member Bangalore section WiE AG – as panelists.
