More IEEE WIE Members to IEEE Standards

A collaborative effort between IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE), the IEEE Technical Activities Board (TAB) Committee on Standards (TCoS), and the IEEE Standards Association (SA) aims to inspire more women to engage in IEEE Standards. This initiative includes global webinars, training sessions at IEEE WIE International Leadership Summits (ILSs), and support for speakers and events at ILSs. These efforts have been impactful and well-received.

As a result of ongoing work with the Chair of TAB TCoS over the past two years, TAB has approved a new non-voting member from WIE to join the TAB Committee on Standards (TCoS) starting January 1, 2025. The IEEE TAB Operations Manual has recently been updated to reflect this change. For more details, please refer to Section 3.15 of the IEEE TA Operations Manual. This is a wonderful opportunity for collaboration and participation.

Celebrating Special Days through IEEE WIE Upskill & Reskill Program

IEEE WIE celebrated Ada Lovelace Day on October 8, International Day of the Girl Child on October 11, and International STEM Day on November 8 through the IEEE WIE Upskill and Reskill workshop series. These workshops guided and educated undergraduate and graduate students on the latest trends in research and innovation.

IEEE WIE Forum USA East 2024 was a success, featuring engaging opening remarks, a regional meet and greet event, and the presentation of the IEEE Women in Technology and Leadership Award to Jyotika Athavale in the presence of Walmart Representative Vandana Rana. The WIE booth was well-received, offering valuable programs to the audience. We look forward to your contributions to the IEEE WIE Forum USA East 2025.
