A Recap of Important IEEE WIE Happenings
IEEE WIE Membership
As of July 2024, there were 1292+ WIE AGs worldwide and 36,901 WIE Members, a 3.7% increase year over year (YoY), with 11.454 male membership indicating the inclusive nature of WIE global membership.
IEEE WIE Visibility
IEEE WIE programs has been creating a great visibility with 2,560 WIE events reported via IEEE vTools and through social media, such as LinkedIn – 20,207 followers, LinkedIn Group – 5,776 members, Twitter – 4,434 Followers, Facebook – 128K followers and Instagram – 5,363 followers.
IEEE WIE International Leadership Conference (WIE ILC) 2025
IEEE WIE ILC is to be held at Signia by Hilton, San Jose, California, May 15-16, 2025. Congratulations to 2025-26 IEEE WIE ILC Chair, Jyotika Athavale, and the 2025 IEEE WIE ILC Planning Committee! Looking forward to your participation for its resounding success!
2024 IEEE WIE Day
Thanks for celebrating the 2024 IEEE WIE Day from 23 June to 12 July with a resounding success.
270 IEEE WIE Day ambassadors.
235 IEEE WIE events held worldwide.
85 ambassadors submitted their reports to receive WIE Day Ambassador Certificates.
85 IEEE WIE Day badges earned in IEEE Collabratec.
100 WIE Day poll questions answered.

IEEE WIE Manga Story Contest
Congratulations to the 6 winners for the 2024 Manga Story Contest that has been declared, they are from diversified regions (R1, R8, R9, R10) with amazing topics! Thanks to the judges and applicants. For the 2023 Winning stories, the calls for translators for Chinese, Hindi, Bangla, French and Arabic have been sent. Please apply!
IEEE WIE Family Cares Grant Program
The first call for the IEEE WIE Family Cares Grant Program (FCGP) is closed with 9 submissions, winner will be announced soon! The program aims to relieve the financial burden of family care responsibilities (children, seniors, disabled) so that IEEE members can attend IEEE conferences, please share the future call to your networks.
IEEE WIE Climate Tech Pitch Idea Competition
IEEE WIE Climate Tech Pitch Idea Competition entered its second year with 118 submissions from R3, 5,7,8 and 10. Top 20 teams had their presentations and judges are in the process of selecting the winners! Stay tuned!
IEEE WIE Distinguished Lecturers Program(virtual)
IEEE WIE Distinguished Lecturers Program (virtual) has created a lot of enthusiasm among WIE AGs as IEEE WIE has received already 12 requests for DLs from WIE AGs in R2, R6, R8 and R10. IEEE WIE Society liaisons to WIE has nominated 72 DLs from their societies. Among them, 36 DLs from 12 societies and councils (R1-R10, except R7) are already available in the IEEE WIE website. More 36 DLs from 7 societies and 3 councils (R1-R10, except R7) will be made available to our WIE AGs. This program highlights IEEE WIE’s partnership with the Societies/Council Program. Inspiring all to invite the DLs to your WIE Affinity Groups’ meetings/seminars/panel discussions.
2024 IEEE WIE Awards
The winners for 2024 IEEE WIE Awards have been declared ! Congratulations to the winners! Thanks to the judges for their outstanding contributions.

For the 2024 submissions, there were 35 nominations; the following is the region breakdown:
