Abstract: Participants learn how to apply the principles of “Interviewing to Win.” They learn the 3 Cs of interviewing, the types of interviews, and how to properly prepare. They will also review interview questions, learn how to debrief and follow up to make the best impression on hiring managers.
Linkedin – Participants review best practices for creating a LinkedIn profile that will help them stand out online. They begin to explore the power and importance of a LinkedIn profile and how it can make or break a search. They will create the framework for an impactful profile using their unique set of competencies, skills, and accomplishments to lay the groundwork for a powerful summary.
Resume – Participants will learn how to develop a resume that differentiates them from other candidates. Discussions include the purpose of a resume, types, and parts of a resume, and responsibilities vs. accomplishments. Participants also learn how to market themselves and the next steps in writing the resume.
Bio: Herminia Navarro is a Career Management Consultant and training professional with extensive international experience conducting seminars, training associates, and presenting to clients. As a consultant for Lee Hecht Harrison, she uses best practice methods to successfully guide clients through employment gaps. To this end, Herminia leverages her more than 10 years of HR-related experience to guide her clients to create quality resumes, prepare for interviews, and negotiate offers.
Herminia brings a wealth of employee engagement and talent management expertise through her more than 11 years of experience with The Gallup Organization and readily leverages that knowledge in her partnership with her clients to provide additional value in career transition.
Valuing the importance of diversity and inclusion, Herminia hails from Venezuela and is fully bilingual in Spanish and English, and regularly facilitates bilingual group sessions. Herminia earned a Master of Science degree in Economics from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, in addition to her formal Coaching training at the International Coaching Academy. She currently resides in Locust Valley, NY with her husband and daughter.
