Promoting high-quality K-12 STEM instruction to prepare students for the future (AI Talks with Coffee/Tea 26)

Loading Events

America’s future economic opportunity, international competitiveness, and national security are all reliant on young people’s mastery of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) subjects. Yet, strong headwinds—ranging from pandemic learning losses to increasing student disengagement—have thwarted K-12 students’ progress in these areas. Meanwhile, technological advances around artificial intelligence offer both opportunities and new threats, creating uncertainty about whether and how STEM instructional models should be shifting for the future.
On June 10, join the (https://www.brookings.edu/centers/brown-center-on-education-policy/) at Brookings for a webinar to discuss how teachers can productively engage K-12 students in effective STEM instruction. Panelists will also explore how leaders and policymakers can shift their approaches to STEM standards and curricula in light of new technologies. Viewers can submit questions for speakers by emailing events@brookings.edu or via Twitter at (https://twitter.com/BrookingsGov) by using #STEMInstruction.
