About IEEE Day IEEE Day commemorates the anniversary of the first time when IEEE members gathered to share their technical ideas, which took place in 1884. Worldwide celebrations demonstrate the ways thousands of IEEE members in local communities join together to collaborate on ideas that leverage technology for a better tomorrow. Theme Now engraved in its essence, the IEEE Day’s theme is: “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow”. While the world benefits from what’s new, IEEE focuses on what’s next. Dear IEEE members, We are delighted to extend an invitation to you for the “IEEE Day 2023 Celebration – Northern Canada Section”. Iyub Adam, chair of the IEEE Northern Canada Section, and a few other senior members from the section will be attending the event in-person to give an introduction to the IEEE Northern Canada Section and will be there to elaborate on the benefits of joining IEEE. Also, representatives from all the active chapters/affinity groups; IEEE Power Electronics Society Chapter, IEEE Student Branch of UofA, IEEE AP-S/MTT-S joint Chapter, IEEE PES/IAS joint Chapter, and IEEE Young Professionals will be there as well. Also, we have organised an interesting Lab tour of the Electrical and Computer Engineering department, University of Alberta.
